World LPG Association (WLPGA), Elgas
This case study, written by the World LPG Association in partnership with Elgas, describes an emergency scenario in Cooper's Creek, Australia, when ex-tropical cyclone Oswald caused a landslip that cut off the only road into the town in February 2013. Elgas coordinated with the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) to deliver LPG canisters by helicopter to the stranded residents for their energy needs, which were becoming dire. Safety was a top priority in this project, both in the delivery of the cylinders and in training designated town residents on proper handling and connection procedures.
