Description

The Community-assisted Access to Sustainable Energy (CASE) project aims to provide efficient, sustainable and affordable energy fuels and energy related services in rural and per-urban Rwanda. The project will also provide income- generating activities in the energy services sector. The project aims to reduce biomass energy dependency by 50% in four districts of Nyamagabe, Nyaruguru, Gisagara and Huye. The final evaluation was conducted at the end of the project, and the key findings were complied in this final evaluation report. Some of the findings include that project was able to acheive several of its intended goals and was able to implement all the planned programs. There was variable success in some areas due to uptake of stoves, improper pricing of new stoves and adminstrative issues around some of the livlihood initiatives.
