Project Description
For refugees confined in small zones, local communities with increasing population and institutions like hospitals, schools, the need for SAFE is high as firewood acces proof numerous challenges for each of these individual groups. SAFE activities are implemented as support for vulnerable population is critical as these are the ones that may sell part of produce or food aid to buy fuel. SAFE works to address beneficiaries' lack of access to cooking fuel sources, to reduce the amount of wood that children in school meals programmes have to carry daily to school for meal preparation so they dedicate time saved for studies, to address protection issues (eg. women gathering firewood being exposed to gender-based violence) and to address environmental degradation caused firewood collection.
