Project Description

The Education for All Policy clearly specifies the government commitment to provide atleast one meal to kids; and construction of fuel efficient stoves is geared towards fulfilling this policy. WFP Lesotho first introduced the fuel efficient stoves in 2003, and in 2009 an improved version of the stoves was introduced in 111 primary schools. From from 2014 to date new cooking infrastructure is being put in place and 64 schools received new kitchens and store-rooms. Project activities include: 1. Provision of institutional fuel-efficient stoves to schools and improvement of cooking infrastructure (kitchens and storage rooms) 2. Trainings in fuel-efficient cooking methods 3. Protection training and sensitization
