Project Description

To address cooking energy challenges and ensure people can consume their food safely without creating further risk to their food security and nutrition, WFP Rwanda constructed kitchens with fuel-efficient cookstoves and energy-saving cooking pots to assist refugee students in both national and refugee schools. In refugee camps, WFP is in partnership with ADRA International which is implementing the programme of school feeding. In national schools, WFP is in partnership with the districts to implement the programme of home-grown school feeding, where WFP is using improved cook stoves. Project locations: Six refugee camps: Kiziba, Gihembe, Nyabiheke, Kigeme, Mugombwa and Mahama.
