Project Description

WakaWaka Power solar lanterns were provided to Syrian refugees crossing the borders of Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon. The solar-powered devices allow these refugees to charge their phones and connect with family members who are caught in the horrors of the civil war. It also enables them to safely see, study, move about, cook, read and gather in darkness without the risk of tent fires due to kerosene lights. The project took place in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Syria.
