Project Description

In an effort to reduce firewood consumption fuel-efficient, locally made Maendeleo stoves were encouraged and distributed to individual households in Dadaab. The stove distributed was not durable and needed frequent repair. In Kakuma, users observed that thestove did not have the capacity to accommodate different sizes of pots. Moretraining should also be provided on stove use. The project took place in Dagahaley Camp ID 53, Hagadera Camp ID 54, Ifo Camp ID 55, and Kakuma Camp ID 60 of Garissa District and Turkana District, Kenya
