Project Description

In 2008, ILF transitioned from a humanitarian based program to a 'commercialized' based program in order to establish a sustainable stove market in Northern Uganda and build local capacity through stove production and micro-enterprises. The project has several objectives including: (1) establish a market-based fuel efficient stove market in Northern Uganda; (2) establish a self-sustainable manufacturing site to meet growing demand for stoves; (3) increase FES awareness and the environmental benefits throughout Northern Uganda to increase demand. The location of the project was in Lira District, Northern Uganda.
